And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Men’s MeetUp is a men’s discipleship group that meets for food, time in the Word, and stewardship projects.

MEN’S DISCIPLESHIP AT LIVING WORD

“Camaraderie” refers to a mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together. While not a technically biblical term, it serves well to capture the content of male Christian friendships and the driving priorities of men’s discipleship:

  • Christ - Men need Jesus Christ and a “friend in Christ.”

  • Companionship - Men are not designed to work and live alone.

  • Candor - Men build trust slowly through fairness and forthrightness.

  • Communication - Men need authentic encouragement and confrontation.

  • Compassion - Men help each other and need help more than we expect.

  • Commitment - Men need brothers committed to common cause.

  • Character - Men are used by God to shape and equip other men.

  • Constancy - Men’s relationships endure where grace and forgiveness prevail.

Whether through study, service, mentoring, or just hanging out, God is shaping men through His living Word.
