The Vision
Why do we need an AFLC?
To further the cause of congregations built on the Word.
To keep freedom in Christ in the forefront of our congregational life.
To experiment in ecclesiastical liberty and decentralization.
To test seriously the uniting power of Christian love and cooperation in common cause.
To build Lutheran congregations by means of the Holy Spirit above and beyond a reliance on the means of organizational intricacies.
To carry out in everyday practice the Reformation principle of the priesthood of all believers.
To nourish the congregation in simplicity and utter reliance upon the Word of God.
The Association of Free Lutheran Congregations is sincerely grateful for the work of other Christian bodies. We do not not seek to pass judgment upon the relative contributions of other Lutheran bodies, whether large or small, but rather seek to contribute to the furthering of the Kingdom of God.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. ~Galatians 2:20
